The University of Manchester Harwell Campus, Diamond Light Source Ltd, CCPi (the Collaborative Computational Project in Tomographic Imaging) and 3dmagination Ltd are pleased to announce their third annual workshop on Advances in X-ray Imaging.
The aim of these workshops is to bring scientists from different fields to discuss developments and applications of a variety of X-ray imaging and complementary techniques, and to build international collaborations.
Speakers, from a range of international organisations, include:
-
Kate Dobson, University of Durham, ‘4D Tomography Applied to Magmatic Systems’
-
Llion Evans, University of Swansea, 'Creating high-resolution engineering simulations with X-ray tomography'
-
Francois Hild, University Paris-Saclay, 'Digital Volume Correlation: Progress and Challenges'
-
Shaz Khan, GSK, ‘Multiscale Synchrotron Imaging for Oral Care’
-
Chu Lun Alex Leung, University of Manchester, 'Revealing defect dynamics in laser additive manufacturing by in situ and operando X-ray imaging'
-
Maxime Moreau, French Institute of Petroleum ‘Efficient Topological & Morphological Characterization of 3D Complex Microstructures’
-
Paul Quinn, Diamond Light Source, ‘Hard x-ray nanoprobes – new tools for nanoscale imaging'
The event will be hosted in the G59 Lecture Theatre of Diamond House at Diamond Light Source.
There is no charge for registration, but please ensure you register so we can keep track of numbers. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Posters are encouraged and poster prizes will be awarded - with thanks to 3dmagination for the sponsorship.
More details will be provided to registered participants closer to the date of the event.
On the day before this workshop, 14th June, the CCPi are also running informal fringe discussions involving the visiting speakers. Workshop attendees are very welcome to participate. Further details for that event are linked here. Overnight accommodation can be booked at Ridgeway House for participants intending to take part in both activities.
